Following continued investor demand since its launch in July 2010, the Board of the investment trust is providing the opportunity for existing and new investors to gain exposure to dividend-paying companies across global emerging markets, through the form of placing and offer for subscription of conversion shares (C shares)*.

The share issue is expected to appeal to a broad range of investors keen to diversify their income portfolios and in particular to those looking to top up their existing ISAs and invest in the new ISA period.

Chairman of the Board of the JPMorgan Global Emerging Markets Income Trust, Andrew Hutton said,

“Since the trust’s launch in 2010 we have experienced continued investor demand from investors seeking income from emerging markets. The C share offer is designed to meet that demand.  Our investors have the prospect of both exciting growth from emerging markets and a higher dividend yield than can be obtained in many developed markets.”

 

■ The alliance will combine Banco Santander’s commercial strength in the region with Zurich’s experience and leadership in developing and managing insurance products.

■ The bank will distribute the Santander-Zurich alliance’s insurance products in Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Argentina and Uruguay through its network of more than 5,600 branches.

■ Santander will create a holding company for its insurance subsidiaries in the five markets; Zurich will acquire a 51% stake and manage the companies.

They people lending to you will be setting the APR rate and if you are seen as a very safe person to lend to, the APR can be as low as 6.7%.

Currently you are only allowed to get a quote for a loan on Zopa  with a term of 3 or 5 years which is limiting seeing as you can pay it off early if you want. Currently if you borrowed £10000 over 5 years the APR is quoted at 8.8% with payments at £205.17

The next best lender would be Santander and under the same loan terms the repayments would be £205.44.

These are very close results, however the APR quoted by Santander is their lowest and the one from Zopa is not the 6.7% lowest you might be able to get depending on what the lenders decided.  So Zopa could be the cheapest as long as you get a real tailored quote. You might just be surprised as the repayments at Zopa if you got 6.7% would be £195.67 saving you around £600 over the life of the loan.
